I am in Chittagong,Bangladesh, to visit the Asian University for Women, making use of my Erasmus Mundus shcolarship. It is good to see old friends again, and to get more into the realities of the field work of Ph.D.-students Janani and Farzana, who are currently staying at the AUW.

In Chittagong I have visited the head office of YPSA (Young Power in Social Action), and Mr. Vashkar Battacharya gave a very interesting presentation on the work YPSA does, especially focusing on ICT for Development and ICt for the disabled. Vashkar, who himself is blind, is the leading person in creating new jobs and training blind people to take on jobs, a truly inspirational achievement.

In August 2010, YPSA was awarded the National e-content and ICT4D award for the work done in creating access for blind people and developing digital content on important issues for social development.
