Combining work practice and research - like this…
The July-issue of Aalborg University’s monthly magazine “UGlen” features a two page-portrait of colleague Lillian Buus (in Danish only). Lillian is doing her Ph.D. part-time in eLearning Lab and works part-time at the elearning unit at the Faculty of Humanities at the same time. Lillian’s story is a very good example of how profesional experience and research can blend succesfully - however, the issues of dividing your time between two demanding jobs with rather different criteria for succes and measures of quality, are not touched upon in the article ;-)
I’m participating in The Nordforsk network seminar at Aalborg University these couple of days. Learning about Action Learning, collaborative tool (I already know about), action research, problem based learning, etc….
Together with colleauge Thomas Ryberg I gave a presentation at this seminar. Thomas talked about the need for empowering teachers with design tools so they stay in charge when using ICT in their classrooms. We then demonstrated the CoED-tool, and had some very interesting discussions with the participants about strenghts and weaknesses of the tool.
For some time now, we have been phrasing questions for further development of the tool, and we will work with these in a new project in the spring.
Web 2.0 and Problem Based Learning in Enterprise Architecture Training – Developing a Learning Methodology
Thomas Ryberg, Lillian Buus and I held a symposium/workshop at the Networked Learning Conference, where we presented results from the EAtrain-project. Furthermore, we had a CoED-workshop with app. 25 participants. The interactive form of the symposium was very popular with the participants, and hopefully many are now busy using the CoED-tool in design work (find the tool here).
Workshop in Vienna with the EATrain2-project
On Nov. 5th I attended a project meeting in the EATrain2-project, where my colleague Thomas Ryberg heads a workpackage aiming to develop a “learning design”. My part in the project meeting was to run a design workshop using the COeD tool.
See also post from Lillian Buus on the same workshop here - nice recap of our shared experiences at the workshop: http://lillian-buus.tumblr.com/
