New course on videoconferencing in teaching and learning. Together with Rikke Ørngreen from The Danish School of Education, I have started a new course in the Master in ICT and Learning programme.
Together with the students, we will explore different videoconferencing tools, gather experiences, discuss and reflect on what works and why it works. The aim is to develop a model or perhaps planning tool for e.g. teachers, supervisors, facilitators, etc. The course runs from early December till end of January, and students will take turn in planning and running three videoconferences
That time of year again :-)
Exams, graduations, celebrations… This year, I had an interesting experience with a group of students from Master in ICT and Learning: Two students were present in Aalborg for the examination of their group project, and two were at different remote locations. This caught the attention of the local media, so we had a cameraman from TV2Nord in the room as well.
You can watch the program here: MIL exam makes the news (in Danish only). A few lines (in Danish) can be found on the TV-station’s web-page here.
What to do with technology in the class room…?
During a recent trip to Copenhagen (to teach at MIL), I was invited to a school north of Copenhagen to discuss ideas for future projects with ICT in the classroom. During a tour of the school the students proved themselves to be very competent users of technology - for recreation, fun and games. This is, however, a good foundation to build on, when introducing technology as a tool for teaching and learning.
Congratulations to all graduates from the master programme in ICT and learning. I hope you are all enjoying the sun and warm weather we are blessed with these days.
Best of luck to all of you.
