Research group on ICT for Development - Call for papers out now
To serve as a forum for our ongoing research on the topic, we have formed a research group on ICT for Development. Formally, the group is a subgroup within eLearning Lab; however, we also have a number of ‘alumni members’, namely former colleagues in eLL whom we still collaborate with. We have a presentation website here.
Currently, our main activity in the group is writing a book on the topic of ICT for Development within education and learning. A call for chapters has been put together, as we would like to invite others to contribute - please get in touch, if you have relevant research to present.
Autumn 2011 - these are my main focus areas for the second half of the year. Looking forward to getting settled in our new campus (as much as I admire people who can build houses, install kitchens, fit the wires for our wireless, etc., I still prefer not to have them running in and out of my office all day :-)). In two weeks time, our students will join us here, which I guess will be the real test of both the building and the organisation we are a part of.
Book of the week is “Didaktik and/or Curriculum”, ed. by Björg B. Gundem & Stefan Hopmann. In preparation for a meeting in research group FIU we are reading chapter three “Didaktik and Curriculum Studies” by Ian Westbury. I believe the discussion of this chapter and the entire volume is a very relevant perspective to some of the discussions we have experienced in workshops on learning design, e.g. in the EAtrain2 project.
